Hi, I'm working on a humanoid robot that needs functional hands. I am not thrilled with any of the 3D printed robot hands that are available out there today. At least, none that I have found yet. Most don't look strong enough to be useful and-or don't look like they can produce a good range of human hand gestures. Many of today's robot hands are actuated by Bowden cables that stick out and can snag on things, add slop, and add maintenance overhead. I know there are some people in this group who have been developing robot hands and who have a lot of experience with them. As I do my research in preparing to design my own solution, I hope to get some feedback. I'll start with creating a thread that lists projects I am aware of. At some point I will post my designs. It would be good to collaborate with others. Maybe we can get a "robot hand focus group" started? There are some good discussions on the telegram channel. In the 'old days' we used to have e-mail lists where threads could easily be sorted. On telegram though, it is sometimes difficult to find earlier discussions. I guess we or I could try summarizing robot hand discussions from the telegram channel here on this forum
